Steelheads Head Coach
Martin "Marto" Coventry
Marto has been involved in footy for nearly 40 years. Growing up playing footy in Tasmania, Marto brought his experience to the USA in 1998 and has since played in over 200 USAFL games. 3 of which resulted in a national championship. In addition to his accolades on the field, he has also been an avid off-field supporter with over 20 years coaching experience at both the local and national level.

Sockeyes Head Coach
Lauren "Schnitz" Skonieczny
Starting her career with the New York Magpies, Lauren now enters her 12th season playing AFL. She has been an integral member of Portland AFC since she moved out west in 2018. She has trained in Australia with the US Liberty and is passionate about spreading her love for the game as the head coach for the Sockeyes!

Sockeyes Assistant Coach
Tanya Fox
Pronounced "Tan-ya" not "Ton-ya", Tanya brings invaluable experience to the Sockeyes coaching group. She first played footy at 8 years old in Melbourne, Australia before women were fully accepted into the league. She rediscovered her love of footy after moving to the USA and joined the Sockeyes in 2018. She loves the dynamics of the sport and the wonderful group of people involved in the club.

Steelheads Assistant Coach
Joss "Beans" Scholten
An Australian native, Joss played footy as a youth until moving to the USA at age 10. Years later, he has rekindled his passion for the sport by joining the Austin Crows (2015-2023) and stepping up as a leader on their reserves team. With previous nicknames of "Baby Giraffe" and "Beans" he has high hopes of bringing his enthusiasm, dedication, and a sense of fun to every coaching opportunity.

Skills and Development Coach
Kyle "Creamy" Peters
Kyle has been involved with AFL for nearly 20 years. He began his playing career during a college study abroad program with the South Fremantle WAFL Club in 2008. He later returned to Australia and played with the Denmark-Walpole Magpies in the Great Southern Football League. He is an avid Fremantle Dockers fan and can't wait to bring his 20 years of experience to his new coaching role!

Skills and Development Coach
Max "Juice" Ducey
Max "Juice" Ducey has been playing with the Portland Steelheads since 2019, but has been playing since 2014 when he studied abroad in Perth. He was first called "Juicy" by his Australian teammates who mispronounced "Ducey" and it stuck. He is disciplined at improving his own technique and is excited to teach the club.
